Cameron House guests love our Loch Lomond Off Road Adventures, in our fleet of classic Land Rover Defenders - it's the perfect combination of an exhilarating off-road driving experience, and a wonderful guided-tour of the incredible Loch Lomond landscape.

You’ll have the opportunity to experience driving our iconic Defenders, under expert instruction, or sit back and enjoy the tour. Either way, we’ll tackle steep inclines, declines and rock crawls, getting you to the hilltops for spectacular views.

Our Kilted Adventure Guides are experienced off-road driving instructors and passionate tour guides - they are brilliant characters, with great knowledge of the local area and lots of stories and banter. You’ll feel like you have an old friend showing you around. 

Your kilted Adventure Guide will collect you from the front door of the hotel, or directly from your accommodation if elsewhere on resort. You’ll set off north into the hills to discover two areas, the first in the hills above the village of Luss, overlooking Loch Lomond’s islands, and the second even more spectacular area overlooking Loch Long, and the mountain range known locally as The Arrochar Alps

There are lots of wonderful viewpoints along the way, where we stop for driver changes, and photo opportunities. If your party takes more than one vehicle, then you’ll travel together and be in constant contact on the two-way radios. This is always a private experience for your group and your group alone – we never have guests sharing vehicles or travelling together with other guests. 

We always tailor the tour to our guests’ tastes; if you want an extreme off-road driving experience, then we can include some very challenging terrain, but most guests are much more interested in the scenery and learning about the history and modern-day stories of the area. Your Adventure guide will chat with you when you are collected and tailor the experience to make it perfect for you. 

Our Land Rovers accommodate 4 adults plus our Adventure Guide. We do have a couple of 7 seaters, so if there are kids under 12 in the party then we can take up to 6 guests including the kids, but they will be in the folding third row seats, and it’ll be cosy!
