Social Off-Road Adventures

04 Mar 2019

On a fresh Sunday morning in February we were delighted to host an off-road afternoon for a group of adventurous social media bloggers.

In attendance were Caroline Walker (@ig_scotland & @loves_scotland), Dan Maika (@dantakesphotos), Neil Robertson (@travelswithakilt), Sarah (@insta_glasgow) & Steve Oates (@wilde_oates).

Our meeting point was the Library in the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel where we enjoyed teas, coffees & their incredible bacon rolls on fresh, warm brioche (a day on the hills of Loch Lomond off-roading is tiring work, pre-adventure fuel is important). After some introductions & a chat about our shared loved of the great Scottish outdoors we jumped into two of our Land Rover Defenders, aptly named FUN & MUD.

Once we arrived at our first track we explained the workings of the vehicle to the group & the off-road techniques required for the day ahead. With that taken care of we were off. It was a cloudy start to the day however the clouds cleared & we enjoyed incredible views across Loch Lomond & Loch Long. All of the group thoroughly enjoyed the adventure & were fantastic behind the wheel. Driving off-road is very different to on-road & we were very impressed with how each handled the vehicle & overcame the different challenges on the tracks.

We stopped off for quite a few photo opportunities as we’re completely spoilt with the scenery of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs. Whilst navigating along the hills that run along Loch Long the Cobbler was looking as stunning as ever, sun kissed with a picture perfect, blue sky backdrop.

After lots of fun behind the wheel, photos & fresh air we headed back to our Loch Lomond Adventures Hub base in Luss where our adventure came to an end for the day. It’s safe to say everyone had big smile on their face, as did we.

Be sure to check out & follow the group on Instagram & keep an eye out for their photos from the day.
